The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders (though anyone is welcome!) who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. In this comprehensive training, you’ll learn high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, how to use an AED effectively, and essential skills for recognizing and responding to life-threatening emergencies.

This blended learning course has 2 parts.

Part 1: Complete the online 'Heartcode BLS' course

Part 2: Complete in-person skills testing with an instructor.

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
